The short version
- You can search and browse Page One Partner without an account and without telling us who you are.
- When you ask for quotes, your contact details stay private until you choose a business to share them with.
- We do not sell personal information. We do not sell or share information we receive from Google.
- Business owners can correct, claim or hide their page at any time, free.
Business listings
Listings describe businesses, not private individuals. They are built from information businesses publish about themselves, including their public Google Business Profile, from licensed business-data providers, and from what owners tell us directly. A listing can show the business name, category, service area or address, phone number, website, hours, photos, services and public review ratings.
If you run a business that is listed, you can correct it, claim it or hide it whenever you like. Hiding removes the page from the directory and from our sitemap, and we ask search engines to drop it.
We also publish research built from listings: aggregate statistics such as average ratings or website adoption by trade and state. It never identifies individual people, and we do not publish business-level data from it.
What we collect from visitors
- Quote requests and messages to a business. The details you type: your name, email, phone, town or ZIP code, and a description of the job. With Compare Quotes, businesses see the job and the general area first. Your name and contact details are shared only with the business or businesses you choose.
- Reviews and private feedback. If you rate a business from its review page, a star rating with a public review is left on Google, under Google's terms. A private note goes only to that business and to us.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and our security provider (Cloudflare) log your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this to keep the site running, stop spam and abuse, and limit automated scraping. When you click to reveal a business's phone number or website, or search the directory, we record that click or search with your IP address (for searches, only the first part of it) and browser type, so we can spot bulk harvesting and count what people look for.
- Spam and fraud screening. Quote requests, messages and claims are checked automatically before they are delivered, using the content, how quickly the form was filled in, your IP address and the network it belongs to, and your approximate country as reported by Cloudflare. Submissions that look like spam are kept for review but not delivered to anyone.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization to understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
What we collect from business owners
When you claim a page we collect your name, email, phone number, your role at the business, and anything you ask us to correct. We use it to confirm you represent the business, to set up your free owner tools, and to contact you about your page. A member of our team may call the business to confirm the claim.
Photos, logos, descriptions, services and other content you add are published on your page. You can change or remove them at any time.
Signing in with Google
Business owners: "Claim with Google" and "Connect Google". If you choose to sign in with the Google account that manages your business, Google asks your permission to share access to your Google Business Profile with us. We use that access only to:
- confirm that you manage the business you are claiming;
- keep your Page One Partner page in step with your Google profile (services, description, logo, photos, hours);
- power the owner tools you use yourself: seeing how customers find you, reading and replying to your reviews, and publishing posts and updates you approve.
We store the access securely on our servers and never show it to anyone. You can disconnect at any time from your owner portal, or from your Google Account's third-party access settings. When you disconnect, we revoke the access with Google and delete the stored keys.
Visitors. Where we offer "Continue with Google" for saving businesses or tracking quote requests, we receive only your name, email address and profile picture, and use them only to run your account.
Details you save in your account. You can choose to save a phone number, home address or just a ZIP code, neighborhood, the type of home, floor, stairs and elevator, and the kinds of services you use, so quote requests fill themselves in. All of it is optional. We show none of it to a business unless you tick it on a request you send, and then only to the companies you picked for that request. You can change or clear it at any time in My Page One, and it is deleted with your account.
Your lists, requests and recently viewed. Businesses you save, and the lists you sort them into, are stored in your account and are visible only to you. A quote request you send while signed in is linked to your account so you can find it again; if you delete your account the link is removed, and the companies you sent it to keep what you sent them. The businesses you viewed recently are remembered on your own device only, are never sent to us, and can be cleared from the page that shows them.
Limited Use. Page One Partner's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, do not use it to build marketing or sales lists, and do not let people read it except with your permission, for security, or where the law requires it.
How we use information, and who sees it
- To deliver what you asked for: pass a quote request to the businesses you chose, publish an owner's updates, send a claim confirmation.
- To keep the directory accurate and safe: verify claims, prevent fake listings, spam and abuse.
- To email you about your request or your page. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link that works without signing in.
We share personal information only with: the businesses you choose to contact; the service providers that run the site for us (hosting, security, email delivery and, for payments in the owner portal, our payment processor), under contracts that limit them to that job; and authorities when the law requires it. Page One Insights LLC also offers paid marketing services to businesses. If you are a business owner, our team may contact you about your page. We never sell visitors' quote requests or contact details as leads to businesses they did not choose.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and we will do it within 30 days. Email info@pageoneinsights.com with "Privacy" in the subject. We will not treat you differently for making a request. Residents of California and other states with privacy laws have these rights by statute; we extend them to everyone.
We keep quote requests and messages for as long as they are useful to you and the business, claim records for as long as the page is claimed, directory searches and phone or website reveal clicks for 90 days, and server logs for a short period for security. Your account and everything saved in it are kept until you delete the account, which you can do at any time in My Page One. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Children, security and changes
Page One Partner is for adults looking for local services. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and update the date below. This policy covers Page One Partner. The Page One Insights website and client portal have their own policy.
